Telehealth therapy in Virginia
Licensed in Virginia · LCSW #0904020545
Michael Nalbone, LCSW, sees adults by secure video from anywhere in Virginia. Therapy here is entirely telehealth — no office to travel to and no waiting room — so a session can fit around work, family, or a schedule that doesn't leave room for an in-person visit.

How it works
- Start with a free brief consult by phone, to hear what you're dealing with and see whether we're a good fit.
- Meet by secure video — 60 minutes for the first session, 45 minutes for ongoing sessions.
- Pay at the time of each session by credit or debit card, or HSA/FSA card, through a secure client portal.
- Get a Good Faith Estimate before your first session if you're paying out of pocket.

Questions from clients in Virginia
- Do I have to live in Virginia to see you?
- You need to be physically located in Virginia during your sessions — that's what my license covers — but you don't need to be a resident. If you're a student, in the military, or splitting time between states, tell me where you'll be and I'll let you know whether I can see you.
- How do telehealth sessions work?
- We meet by secure video at a scheduled time and the session runs the way an in-person one would — you just join from wherever you have privacy and a stable connection. The first session runs 60 minutes and ongoing sessions run 45 minutes.
- Does insurance cover telehealth therapy in Virginia?
- Usually yes, but the details depend on your plan. I'm in-network with the plans listed above. Your copay, deductible, and telehealth rules come from your policy, so call the number on the back of your insurance card — or send me your plan details and I'll help you check.
- What if you're not licensed where I am?
- I'm licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Virginia. If you're physically in one of those states, I can see you. If you're somewhere else, I'm happy to point you toward finding someone licensed where you live.
